Morten Albek

Morten Albek is a world-renowned bonsai artist and has won numerous awards.

He is also featured in Daizo Iwasaki’s book Jubilee and is on the Bonsai Club International artist list, ie.

In 2008 he published his book Majesty in Miniature, Shohin Bonsai, unlocking the secrets of small trees. In 2014, Morten Albek was appointed Ambassador of the Shanghai Botanic Garden for the promotion of the art of bonsai.

Morten Albek has been working as a videographer and photographer since 1989. But before that, he took the gardener exam with a specialty in orchids in 1982.

Morten Albek began his bonsai journey in 1993, and has since worked on building knowledge and skills, and today teaches bonsai, especially Shohin-bonsai internationally.

Widely recognized for his work with Shohin bonsai,

Morten Albek has been on the bonsai scene for over 25 years and has traveled the world teaching bonsai at large events, in small clubs and in numerous workshops.

Since 2003 he serving Shohin bonsai enthusiasts online, and since 2020 with online student memberships, teaching bonsai at all levels.

Morten Albek is based in Denmark and the Kisetsu-en kindergarten is the base for teaching.

Kisetsu-en means “garden of the changing seasons” and reflects the philosophy and spirit of Kisetsu-en Shohin & Bonsai.

The bonsai collection ranges from the smallest Mame and Shohin bonsai to the largest bonsai.

As a bonsai professional, Morten teaches groups of students. Bonsai demonstrations on the largest stages. From Brazil to China and India. And of course throughout Europe.
